We are a New Zealand based, FPS gaming community, who compete and play in NZ and Australia.
What games do Blackwatch play?
- Battlefield Series (we currently have active members playing BF3 and Bad Company 2)
- Call of Duty Series (We competed in the Cybergamer Black Ops open ladder, and on GA and CG ladders for COD4, oh and that one sad guy who bought MW3)
- We also have members active in various other games (Brink and World of Tanks, among others)
What events do we attend, and what competitions are competed in?
We attend a large scale annual LAN each year, called xLan and run by the ON3Network. This premiere event usually occurs over 3 days near the end of June/start of July and attracts a large number of FPS gamers from around the nation.
Dependent on the game at the time, we usually compete in Cybergamer and GameArena ladders and competitions, as well as NZ based ON3Network competitions.

Main Criteria:
- NZ Based (some allowance can be made for Aust based players).
- Good in-game attitude and teamwork.
- A sense of humour is a must!
- A microphone and the ability to communicate while in-game.
- 18+ Preferred.
With Battlefield 3 coming soon the whole clan is gearing up (growing beards) for what is sure to be an amazing game!!
Jets, Helicopters, Tanks, Infantry and 64 players it’s all there!!
Competitive ladders in CyberGamer, and hopefully GameArena with big 16v16 competitions similar to BF2 are on the cards!!!

As most of you know already, this weekend I updated the forums.
Please report any issues in this here thread, that's where I'll be looking for user reports and feedback related to the upgrade.
The main noticeable changes are that the fonts are much tidier and clearer and the forums load faster, as well as more minor changes. Any missing features will be reintroduced over the next week or so, as well as some fresh ideas.

Where's it all happening? We're off to the Logan Campbell Centre at the ASB Showgrounds. A change of venue brings a new layout, new options, and new challenges as well. But the area still holds a number of dining options, a lot of accommodation options, and is still in a very good location. Parking will be free for all attendees, and the venue has confirmed caterers for the weekend, and we'll even have a bar for those of the right age at allocated times over the weekend!
What tournaments? These will be announced over the coming week, but we can categorically confirm the following will be tournaments we will be running at xLAN 2011: Starcraft 2 Counter-Strike 1.6 (NZ WCG Qualifier) Counter-Strike: Source Quake Live Call of Duty (Black Ops or CoD4: Modern Warfare TBC)
